New and improved electronics come out on the market every day. In order to keep up with the constant evolution of technology, organizations need to constantly upgrade their IT equipment. But what happens to the retired electronics?
About IT Asset Disposition / IT Asset Recovery
IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) is the process of maximizing value on end-of-life IT equipment. In other words, we want to help your organization make money back when they retire their old electronics. This includes computers, monitors, laptops, servers, printers, fax machines, and more. Whatever the item is, we will work with you to find the most profitable solution available to you. This process is also referred to as IT Asset Recovery .
At Tessa Asset Recovery, we’re here to help you recover as much value as possible on your retired IT assets. We have a detailed process that involves:
- Refurbishing / Reuse / Remarketing
- Electronics Recycling
Identification of Recoverable IT Assets
The first step in IT asset disposition is identifying recoverable and non-recoverable IT assets. This helps us give your organization the most profitable solution available.
Recoverable IT assets are refurbished and resold – either as a whole, or in parts. Non-recoverable IT assets are recycled in a safe and secure way.
Refurbishing / Reuse / Remarketing
Once we’ve determined the best solution for your organization, it’s time to put that plan into action. We’ll handle all of the details so you don’t have to.
This plan may include the following:
- Logistics Management
- Data Security
- Detailed Asset Reporting / Certificate of Liability
- Electronics Recycling
There’s no need to borrow a truck and haul your old electronics over to us. We’ll come to you at your convenience. Once we’re at your office, we’ll collect, tag, and package your IT assets and transport them back to our secure facilities.
Your organization is concerned about data security for a very good reason. All it takes is one data breach to violate your customers’ privacy and damage your organization’s reputation.
We understand this and will work with you to meet all of your organization’s data security requirements. After all, your data is your data and we’ll treat it like we would our own: carefully and with a high level of security.
Please keep in mind that sensitive data is not just stored on computers and laptops. Tablets, mobile phones, printers, scanners, servers, fax machines, and other electronics may store sensitive data as well.
If at all possible, we’ll refurbish your electronics before recycling them. This helps both the environment and your bottom line.
Here’s how the process works:
- Step 1: Your electronics are tested.
- Step 2: Our technicians get your electronics into the best possible working condition.
- Step 3: The newly refurbished electronics are tested again to ensure that they’re working properly.
- Step 4: We resell the refurbished electronics in order to maximize your value recovery.
Detailed Asset Reporting / Certificate of Liability
We’ll work with you and your organizations to get you all of the paperwork that you require, including detailed asset reporting and a certificate of liability.
Electronics that can’t be refurbished are recycled. When you dispose of electronics improperly, it damages both the environment and your organization’s reputation. It may also leave you liable for fines and cleanup costs. By working with us, you can prevent this.
We have a zero-landfill policy and meet all environmental regulation requirements. But you don’t have to take our word for it – we also hold the following certifications:
- ISO 14001
- Approved Collector by the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery, State of California
